Floris Visser
As a result of his directing of Händel’s “Agrippina” Floris Visser was described as “a promising asset to the Dutch opera world”. He studied directing and acting at the “Toneelacademie Maastricht” (Netherlands), and did his vocal studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music The Hague (Netherlands).
During his studies he already worked in the Netherlands as an actor at the “Onafhankelijk Toneel”, in “Orfeo Intermezzi” and “Moeders, Zonen, Dochters”, directed by Mirjam Koen. He also taught drama and dramaturgy at the Royal Conservatory of Music The Hague (Netherlands), and still is a much sought after teacher for workshops and masterclasses. Further he gives lectures, and is a regular guest at the Dutch Radio 4 program “Operalive”. Starting the 2011-2012 season, Floris Visser holds the position of teacher of drama at the Conservatory of Music of Amsterdam.
