Nicolas Koeckert
The German-Brazilian violinist Nicolas Koeckert was born in 1979 in München (Germany), into a well-known family of musicians. At the age of five he already received his first violin from his grandfather, who was of Jewish origin.
Nicolas learned the most important basics of violinplaying from the Russian violinpedagogue Olga Voitowa. He started his academic studies when he was 16 years of age at the “Hochschule für Musik Würzburg”, where Grigori Zhislin was his Professor. From 1998 Nicolas studied at the Musikhochschule in Cologne, where he studied with Professor Zakhar Bron. After that he performs regularly as a soloist. He obtained his artistic diploma in Cologne, in 2005, with distinction, and in 2007 he succesfully passed his final concert exam.
